Jeanne Buente (nee Swartsel)

October 2, 1919 — September 16, 2018

BUENTE, Jeanne (nee Swartsel) beloved wife of the late Dr. Louis Buente, loving mother of Dr. William (Kathy) Buente, Jeanne, Martha and Gregory Buente, sister in law of Mary Buente McMahan. The Swartsel family settled in the area now called Farmersville in 1803. Jeanne was born on October 2, 1919, to the late Everett Swartsel and Blanche Houk. Jeanne was a graduate of Good Samaritan Nursing School in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the second to graduate from the Nurse Anesthetist Program at UC in 1946. She went on to work at both Good Samaritan and UC, and volunteered at Providence Hospital and UC Hospital. During her time at Providence, she was a volunteer in the surgical waiting room and held the positions of President, Board Member and Treasurer. She was also the President of the College Hill Garden Club, a member of the Bonsai Society of Greater Cincinnati and longtime member of St. Clare Church. Jeanne passed away on Sunday, September 16th, 2018 at the age of 98. Visitation will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Avenue, College Hill, 45224 on Friday, September 21st from 10:30 AM until Blessing at 11 AM.
