John Clinton Beyersdorfer, Jr.

July 26, 1951 — October 21, 2018

John Clinton Beyersdorfer, Jr went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2018 following a courageous battle against Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was 67 years old.  Beloved husband of Sheryl (Kratzer); loving father of Lauren (Ray Knight) and John Clinton Beyersdorfer III (JC); devoted son of Mary (Noll) Beyersdorfer and the late John Clinton Beyersdorfer, Sr.; dear brother of Michael (Linda), Richard (Patty) and Marijo Ose (Kevin); fond uncle of 14 loving nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.  John was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 26th, 1951.   The family moved to Cleveland when he was young. It was there that John developed his love for the Cleveland Browns and made lifelong friendships.  John attended the University of Cincinnati where his many Beta Theta Phi friends became an important part of his life and legacy.  Upon graduation from UC, he moved to Wyoming, Ohio. He was blessed with two beautiful children, Lauren and JC, who were his pride and joy. He cherished and adored everything about them and every moment with them.  In 2006 John married the love of his life, Sheryl Kratzer. They shared a life together filled with travel, long walks with their dogs, and a home filled with friends and family who stopped by often to share a glass of wine.  John became close with Sheryl's mother, Linda, and her brother and sister-in-law John and Kara and their three beautiful girls.  John had a passion for Hawaiian shirts, golf, dogs, travel, gardening, fishing, and time spent with many friends and family.  He had a smile that would warm your heart, a twinkle in his eyes, and the ability to listen with his heart. He was a quiet philanthropist and a lover of people and their stories. He was the master of "bad jokes" and loved to laugh. Over the years, John enjoyed being a member of both Wyoming Golf Club and Kenwood Country Club where he built many additional friendships.  John worked in partnership with his two brothers, Mick and Rich, at Sawbrook Steel Casting Corp for many years and in 1981 became the President of Cushman Foundry where he worked until his diagnosis.  He loved his work, his clients, his employees and, with his brothers, carrying on the family legacy.  We are assured he is at home with his Savior making a new batch of friends in heaven.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 4-7 PM at Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church, 5125 Drake Rd., Cincinnati.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 27 at 11:30AM at Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, 4370 Glendale-Milford Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242 or Pets in Need, 520 Wyoming Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45215.
