Mary Bonita Fellinger

Mary Bonita Fellinger (nee Bressler), known to all as Bonnie, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on March 20, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones. Bonnie was born on January 11, 1938 in Cincinnati to Esther (Manley) and Herman Bressler. Bonnie graduated from Ursuline Academy, where she made many special life-long friendships. After studying Education at Edgecliff College, she taught Home Economics at McAuley High School for five years. Bonnie met the love of her life Skip on a bus carrying Xavier University fans to a football game, and they married two years later in 1965 at Bellarmine Chapel on Xavier’s campus. One of her greatest passions, which Bonnie shared with her husband and family, was rooting on Xavier’s basketball team. Bonnie was a devoted wife, a faithful sister, a proud grandmother, but above all she was a loving mother. At the age of fifteen she assumed the role of mother to her three younger siblings, when her mother passed away. And later she raised four daughters of her own. She loved her daughters and later their husbands with all her heart. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by husband Skip; daughters Michele Ciaccio (Nick), Tricia Fellinger (Samuel Reyes), Libby Arsenault, and Jennifer Fellinger (Steve Herppich); grandchildren Finbarr and Nuala Arsenault, Nicholas Ciaccio, and Quinton and Kilian Herppich. She is survived by her siblings Sue (Mike West), Kathleen Bressler, and John Bressler (Patsy), and her cousin Mary Alice Manley. Bonnie will be truly missed by all friends, especially from her Ursuline and Edgecliff years, the College Hill community, and St. Clare Parish. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 25 10 am - 11 am at St. Clare Church in College Hill. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sister Rose Ann Fleming Scholarship Fund at Xavier University or Cincinnati Hospice of Blue Ash. Condolences at hodappfuneralhome.com
