Ruth Roberts

Ruth Roberts, 90, died at 4:19 p.m. Saturday (March 25, 2017) at her daughter's home near Royal, Illinois.

Graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Rd., Evendale, OH  on Wednesday, March 29, at 1 p.m. (Please meet inside the Main Entrance Gate at 12:45 p.m.)

Ruth was born on July 15, 1926, in Pulaski County, Ky., the daughter of Adrian and Lora Price. They preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Portia (Denver) Phelps of Royal; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson.

Ruth married Willis Dean Carroll in Cincinnati in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1954. They had a daughter, Portia, together.

Ruth then married Eldon Roberts in July 1956. He preceded her in death in June 1988. She has two stepdaughters from this marriage, Caron (Larry) Dye of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sandra (Ron) Appenfelder of Port Clinton, Ohio. They have numerous children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

Ruth is also survived by a sister, Edwina Head of Williamsburg, Ky., two living nephews, two deceased nephews, two grandnephews and two great-grandchildren, all of Williamsburg, Ky.

Ruth lived most of her life in Cincinnati, Ohio. She worked at Keebler Cracker and Cookie factory for over 40 years. After her husband died in 1988, she bought a home by Williamsburg, Ky., to be near her sister and family.

She loved to decorate her home and go to garage sales with her sister and go to Wal-Mart.

Her favorite things were to read, watch her soaps and travel. She loved being back in Kentucky.
