Thomas A. Andrews

Thomas A. Andrews, 71, of Mason, OH, went to be with his Savior on
Wednesday, November 15, 2017 after a 7 year battle with cancer. He was at home surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born on July 21, 1946, in the Bronx, NY, the son of the late Arthur and Phoebe L. (Campbell) Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Larry Andrews, Chet Anderson and Bill Anderson. He is survived by his beautiful wife,  Joan Thompson Andrews, two loving sons Michael Andrews, Santa Ana, CA. and Martin Andrews, Evanston, Il., three siblings: Edward Anderson of Penn Yan, NY, Al Andrews of Leroy, NY, and Sharon (Andrews) Ellington of N. Chili, NY. He is also survived by four wonderful stepchildren: Elijah (Katie) Fields , Austin Fields, Marissa (Justin) Litteral and Zane Fields. One of the many joys in his life was playing with his grandchildren Bea, Jackson, Carson, Olivia, Phoenix and Liam.

Tom graduated from Penn Yan Academy, Penn Yan, NY, in 1964 and from Davis College (formerly known as Practical Bible Training School) in Binghamton, NY. He received his Education Degree from Cedarville University, Cedarville, OH, and his Master's Degree from Wright State University, Dayton, OH. He taught in the Greenon School District, Enon, OH, at Hustead and Indian Valley, retiring from teaching in 1999. During his teaching career, he worked full/part time as a dispatcher for 33 years at the Yellow Springs Police Dept., Yellow Springs, OH. and full time for 14 years as a Communication's officer for the Lebanon Police  Dept., Lebanon, OH. He retired in 2015. His passion for teaching included an adult Sunday School class at Liberty Heights Church, Liberty Twp., OH. Tom was a quiet and gentle man. His love for others, his smile and joyful spirit, even amidst suffering, will be missed.

The family will receive friends at Liberty Heights Church, 7904 Princeton Rd., Liberty Twp., on Saturday, November 18th from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m.
