Virginia L. Roesbery

ROESBERY, Virginia L. Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Virginia Louise (Green) Roesbery passed away on February 10, 2019 at the age of 100. She was the loving mother of Bob Roesbery (Nancy Helwig), Mary Roesbery Matthews, and she survived children Edward Roesbery (Barbara) and Tom Roesbery. She was the family rock for her grandchildren Brenda Martin, Elaine McDonald, Sarah Harwood, Ray Roesbery, Therese Hodge, and Tracy Matthews, and was known as "GG" to her six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, and leaves many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as dear extended family and friends. Virginia was born in Emmettt, Idaho December 8, 1918 to J.B. and Loretta Green. She has a "baby" sister Grace (Kaiser) and three brothers who predeceased her: Jim, John, and Tom Green. She was married to the late Edward Roesbery; widowed at the young age of 30, she attended college and became a Practical Nurse, through which she helped many people over the years. She enjoyed flowers and wildlife and many pets. Friends will gather to remember her on Friday, February 15 from noon to 1 p.m. at Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine St., Cincinnati OH 45216 Carthage; burial will follow at a later date. Any memorial gifts may be directed to The Nature Conservancy or the Humane Society.
