MILLER, William A., Sr. “Bill”

Age 79, of Liberty Township, OH, passed away early morning, Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Bill was born in Hamilton, OH on February 6, 1939, the son of Ralph and Elizabeth (Zettler) Miller. He graduated from Fairfield High School ‘57. He farmed until joining the U.S. Air Force. While a salesman for Oregon Chains, Bill met future wife, Julia, in 1963, and they were married in 1965. He then worked for Converter’s Gravure/Intaglio as a proof press operator for 30 years. They were blessed with four children. Bill later worked for Lakota Local Schools in maintenance and as a bus driver. He was a passionate gardener, tinkerer, farmer, 4-H leader, collector of farm equipment, church usher and minister. He was an active member of K of C Council 11355, Msgr. McNary Assembly #2299, The American Legion of Middletown and antique tractor clubs. William was dedicated to his country, community, church and family. He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and uncle.

Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Julia Ann (Penn) Miller and siblings: Stella K. Miller, Julia Ann (Miller) Thole and John F. Miller (wife Paula); children: Kathleen E. (Julian) Souder, William A. (Susan) Miller, Jr.; Daniel R. (Leslie) Miller; Jason P. (Angela) Miller; grandchildren: Julian, Michelle, and Sarah Souder, Zack, Jakob, Annabelle, James, Gianna, Joshua, Amalie, and Octavia Miller, and step granddaughter Taylor (Josh) Myers, and numerous loved nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his siblings Rosemary Rooney, James Miller, and brothers-in-law Robert Rooney and Tom Thole.

Visitation will be at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd., Liberty Township, OH on Sunday, October 7 from 4-7:00 pm with K of C ceremony following. Funeral mass will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish at 5720 Hamilton-Mason Rd., Liberty Township, OH on Monday, October 8 from 11-12:00 pm, preceded by one hour visitation and followed by burial at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Hamilton, OH.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to The American Diabetes Association or The American Heart Association.
