My sincere sympathy. I met Tom in 2000 when he called me about an article in the Enquirer regarding my family’s trip to Normandy, honoring my father Vince, a D-Day vet. Tom submitted several articles to the 29th Div. Newsletter on my family’s behalf.
In 2001, I came across an eBay auction for a 100 Franc note signed July 2, 1944 on the Normandy beachhead by Tom and 11 other members of his rifle squad. I was honored to be able to return this item to Tom after all these years. He was truly amazed to see it again.
Like my father Vince, Tom took the time to educate the next generations about his experiences in World War II. These men were heroes who saved democracy for the world.
Rest in peace, Tom. 29 Let’s Go!
