Dear Harlan, Nancy and Todd,

In one of the Bahá’í prayers frequently recited for the departed, Baha’u’llah writes “O my God, Thy Trust hath been returned unto Thee. It is one of the phrases that often comes to my mind when I am thinking about a child or youth who has died, but even for those of us, like Barbara, who have both brightened this earthly existence and toiled in it for many decades, it is equally true—we are each a trust placed here by God and destined to return to God’s embrace. As you probably know, my father, Robert, suffered from Alzheimers for several years before his death. I don’t know how long she was in that condition, but I know it can be challenging for the family and especially demanding on the closest caregivers. Please accept my condolences for each of you in the family and my prayers for Barbara.

–Warmest regards, Yvor
