Alan Lee Fredette was born on August 27, 1938, in Oak Park, Illinois, and grew up in Dowagiac, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University, where he became a lifelong Spartan fan, and later earned his master's degree from The Thunderbird School of Global Management.

He enjoyed a distinguished career in international business that took him to more than 90 countries around the world.

 An avid sports enthusiast, he especially loved golf, football, tennis and basketball, and was a devoted reader throughout his life.

Above all, Alan treasured his family. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Antonieta Fredette; his three children, four grandchildren, three stepchildren, seven step-grandchildren, his brother Dave, and many cherished family members and friends.

Alan passed away in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 29, 2026, two days after celebrating his 88th birthday. 

He will be remembered for his kind and upbeat spirit, his gift for creating nicknames for those he loved, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
