Alice M. Gamsky, born on December 11, 1932, in Menasha, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, in West Chester, Ohio, after a brief hospital stay. With a heart full of love and a life marked by kindness, Alice leaves behind an enduring legacy of warmth and devotion that touched everyone who knew her.
Alice was raised in Menasha and attended Saint Patrick elementary school before graduating from Menasha High School. She dedicated much of her early years to being a devoted homemaker and mother, nurturing her children with unconditional love and unwavering support. As her children grew older, Alice embraced a new chapter of her life working as a medical billing specialist at the Nicolet Clinic in Neenah, further demonstrating her ability to balance family and professional roles with grace.
Those who shared time with Alice often remember the joy and peace she found at the lake house on Lily Lake, where she and her husband, James, whom she loved dearly until his passing nearly 18 years ago, retired early to embrace nature and family. Surrounded by deer, eagles, and abundant wildlife, this special place became a haven for shared adventures—whether it was playing golf, riding four-wheelers, boating in summer, or ice-skating and sledding in winter. Her husband Jim, lovingly known to many as Grandpa, even created a fast sledding hill by plowing the road, creating cherished memories for all.
Alice’s easy-going, kind, and accepting nature made her a beloved presence among family and friends. She was gentle in her words, often choosing compassion over conflict, and this quiet strength was an inspiration. Her commitment to staying active, attending water aerobics regularly, and playing golf well into her later years showed a spirited enthusiasm for life that few could match. She had an extraordinary gift for listening patiently and being a role model, especially to her grandchildren—Raleigh, Hanna, Tara, Olivia, and Josh—who cherished the special bond they shared with her.
Known for her culinary talents and especially her homemade apple pies, Alice’s kitchen was often filled with the warmth of laughter and the aroma of delightful meals that brought family and friends together. She loved puzzles, card games, and any pastime that allowed her to spend treasured moments with those she cared about.
Alice’s pride was always reflected in her children—Michael, Daniel, and Chris—and in the families they built alongside their spouses, Lisa, Lynn, and Trina respectively. Her children carry forward the love and life lessons she imparted, a testament to the profound influence she had as a mother. She was deeply connected to her late mother-in-law, Lillian Gamsky, affectionately known as Grandma Raleigh, whose memory she held dear.
In her final days, Alice faced health challenges with quiet courage. After struggling with Atrial Fibrillation and its complications, which included an enlarged heart and fluid in her lungs, her body gently began to give way. She passed surrounded by family, with her son Chris by her side, comforted by the enduring love that defined her life.
Alice will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her ability to love unconditionally created a sanctuary of safety and belonging for her family. Her legacy of kindness, patience, and unwavering love will continue to inspire and nurture those fortunate enough to have been part of her life.
We hold her memory close, grateful for the extraordinary woman who touched our hearts and lives with such gentle strength and boundless love. Alice M. Gamsky’s spirit will forever live on in the stories shared, the traditions cherished, and the love that binds her family together.
