Alice Morwessel

Alice Morwessel, of Kettering, OH, passed away Friday, October 16, 2026, at the age of 76. Beloved daughter of the late Jack and Joan Morwessel; dear sister and best friend of Nancy Morwessel and sister of the late Mary Jo Lehmann; loving aunt of Jennifer Funk, David Dean, and Robert Lehmann.

Independent and strong-willed, Alice valued being true to herself and lived life on her own terms. She brought creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to try new things to her work and her life. A former advertising executive and a hard worker, she fondly remembered what she called the “experiment” of starting her own business.

From the time she had her first apartment, Alice was never without a dog and said life wasn’t worth living without one. She devoted many years to animal rescue and fostering puppies, finding great joy in giving them love and a safe place to begin their lives.

Alice was also a talented writer with a passion for storytelling. She loved the beach and watching the waves and called the Pacific Ocean her muse. Though she rarely shared her work, one Christmas she delighted her grandnieces with a children’s book she had written just for them.

Alice loved her family and treasured the love and affection they shared. She and Nancy grew especially close over the past few years, sharing an exceptionally close bond. As Nancy wrote, “I will miss her every day of my life.”

She will be laid to rest beside her family at Mother of God Cemetery in Covington, Kentucky.
