Anita L. Lutz, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, passed away on August 21, 2025, at Bethesda North Hospital after bravely battling numerous health issues in her later years, ultimately succumbing to the effects of two strokes during her last hospitalization. Born on March 3, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Anita was a nurturing presence whose compassion and kindness touched the lives of many.

Anita embarked on a fulfilling career in nursing after attending Good Samaritan Hospital school of Nursing in Cincinnati. She dedicated herself to caring for others, embodying her belief that everyone deserves love and attention. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life; she was the cornerstone of her family, illustrating through her actions the importance of looking after one another. Even as her health began to decline, Anita's passion for caring never wavered. In her absence, she graciously recruited her husband, Paul, to continue the family legacy of support and care.

Family was the heart of Anita's life. She cherished her grandchildren profoundly, delighting in the countless hours spent with them. From cooking breakfast for Anthony and Austin and ensuring they got off to school, to taking her grandchildren, including Alex and Chase, to Kings Island during delightful summer outings, Anita created memories that will forever resonate in their hearts. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the culinary delights she prepared for her loved ones.

Anita's loving dedication also extended to her daughters, Nancy and Jane, as well as her parents, Anthony and Louise Metelko. Though she grieves the loss of her brother, Louis, and her daughter, Jane, her enduring love and spirit live on through her family.

Anita is survived by her devoted husband, Paul A. Lutz, and her surviving daughter, Nancy (Guy) Liber, son-in-law Chris Ludwig, Her grandchildren, Anthony (Cody Franchini) Liber, Austin (Madison) Liber, Alexandra (Alexander) Lierman, and Chase (Hailey May) Ludwig, will carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.

As friends and family gather to remember Anita, they celebrate a life rich in love, strength, and unwavering support. She leaves behind a profound legacy reflected in the lives she touched and the values she instilled in those she loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
