Betty May Moore Neighbors

Betty Mae Moore Neighbors, 100 Years old, of  West Chester, Ohio, went to her eternal rest on January 29, 2026.  She was born on January 22, 1926; Betty lived a full and vibrant life.  She  was a devoted wife to Joseph Neighbors for 63 years and was a cornerstone of her family as a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother.  She was also a cherished Aunt, Great-Aunt, Great-Great-Aunt, and Great-Great-Great-Aunt.   

A graduated from Lee Edwards High School in Asheville, NC, Betty furthered her education at Blanton's Secretarial Business College.  She put those skills to work as a  bookkeeper for many years.  Betty was a woman of deep faith; she was a member of West Ashville Presbyterian Church for over 46 years before moving to West Chester, Ohio, where she was a member of West Chester Presbyterian Church for 29 years.  Outside of church and family, Betty loved to play cards and board games.  She always went into a game believing she would win, and more often than not she did.

Betty is survived by her loving children: Betty (Wilfred) Smith, Barbara (Randall) Lewter, Beverly (Guy) Shelton, and Brenda (Kenneth) Arnett.  Her legacy lives on through her 20 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great- Grandchildren.  She is also survived by 2 Nieces and Nephews, 20 Great- Nieces and Nephews, 25 Great-Great-Nieces and Nephews, and 5 Great-Great-Great-Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Reah Moore; her husband, Joseph Neighbors; her siblings, Verna (John) Patrick and Evelyn (Quentin) Petit; her nephews, John and Quentin Petit; her Great-Great- Grandson, Stephen Shelton; her Grandson, Stuart Arnett; and her niece Drusilla Westall.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2026, at West Chester Presbyterian Church.  To celebrate Betty's incredible 100 years of life, the family kindly request that attendees wear joyful colors.
