Bill Bowling, of Highpoint, Ohio by way of Boons Camp, Kentucky passed away April 25th, 2026.
Growing up, he was an avid outdoorsman and athlete. His famous throwing arm led him to a love of baseball.
A chance meeting at a neighborhood ball game brought him to the love of his life, Betty, with whom he shared the next 70 years.
He served in the Army in Germany in the early 1960s.
He went on to proudly work at Ford Motor Company for nearly 33 years, retiring in 1997.
After retirement he spent a year traveling all over the country with his friend Jim, fishing poles in hand.
He then went on to work on restoring a home back in Boons Camp with his brother Lee and spent many weeks and weekends out around the ridge and visiting with his cherished people back home.
Bill loved nothing more than spending time with his large family and was everybody's hero. His big laugh and dimpled smile will be missed by all of us.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Willie, and Mother, Ethel, as well as siblings Betty, Audra, Doug, Lee, and lifelong friend Russell Skidmore.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty, and his siblings Bob, Fred, Cora and Jack, as well as his sons Bill and Scott (Tami).
He was the cherished Grandfather of Brian (Nikki), Kasie, Adam, Elizabeth, and Hailey, and Great-Grandfather of Roan and Maisie.
Being a Grandfather (and Great-Grandfather) was the joy of his life, and he was blessed to have raised Brian, Elizabeth, and Hailey. He was also elated to watch Great-Granddaughter Maisie as she grew and changed every day.
A memorial visitation will take place at Hodapp Funeral Home in West Chester on Monday, May 4th at 11AM with a funeral service to follow at Noon.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the High Point Church of God.
