Brian Thomas Krieger passed away on September 12, 2026 at 59 years old with his family at his side.

On December 6, 1966, Brian was born to Frank and Judy Krieger in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The family moved to Cincinnati when he was young, growing up with all his brothers in their house on Hickoryhill Lane. He was an accomplished athlete and played football throughout his time at St. Xavier High School. Many of his moments as a player still stand out in the memories of those who played alongside him- a testament to his legendary presence on the field.

He went on to pursue his college education, graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Those lucky to meet him during those years got to know him as a funny, loyal friend and intelligent student. After graduation, Brian worked as a landscaper before advancing to the position of Explosive Engineer at Rumpke Sanitary Landfill where he was also one of the first CAD operators.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Judy Krieger, his brother, Kevin Krieger, his father-in-law Tom Rumpke, and his brother-in-law, Todd Rumpke.

A beloved husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Melissa Krieger, and their children, Adam, Abigail, Hannah, and Hayden. He also leaves behind his brothers, Timothy and Andrew (Tammy) Krieger as well as his brothers-in-law, Matthew (Kathy) Rumpke, Mark (Kim) Rumpke, sister-in-law Sonya Rumpke and mother-in-law Mary Rumpke. He is remembered fondly by his 13 nieces, 12 nephews, extended family and his close friends. As an animal lover, Brian is also survived by the pets who adored him.

While there was nothing Brian loved more than his family, he had many passions throughout his life. He’d been interested in cars as soon as he could get his hands on them and that never changed. He was also an avid collector with impressive collections of knives, coins, and crystals, rocks, and minerals. The firework shows he put on were well-known in the community as some of the best. Brian, as a former landscaper, took great pride in the work he put into the yard and gardens around his home. His children have an endless amount of memories of evenings spent playing cards, frisbee, cornhole, and soccer with him. Sports were a constant in Brian’s life; he was a hardcore Bengals and FCC fan as well as an active member of his golf league.

Brian’s life was filled with love, humor, and music. He attended many concerts but his favorite ones were the Dead shows. While the memories are treasured, they will never make up for his loss and all those who shared in his life will miss him forever.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 4-7pm at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Avenue, College Hill, OH, 45224.

Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. James Church, 3565 Hubble Road, White Oak, OH, 45247.
