Brian O'Koon was born on Valentine's Day in 1968 and passed away on Thanksgiving morning (11/28/25). Brian is survived by his Mom (Cookie) and his sister (Alana), and a multitude of friends and co-workers who will miss his quiet presence. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Selig.
Brian was equal parts amused and aggrieved, which made him kind of charming. He loved sports (and placing $5 bets). A die hard Reds fan, he traveled all over the country to see them play and liked to talk about all the ballparks he'd been to. He was having a good year in his fantasy football league, something he worked hard on.
In the summer, he could often be found at Riverbend where he and his friends rocked out to 70' and 80's rock bands. He listened to WEBN and WGRR, and any reruns of Casey Kasem’s America’s Top 40 he came across.
And TV. Brian knew pretty much everything about sitcoms, especially sitcoms from the 70's and 80's. He was a big fan of MASH and of Chuck Cunningham (Chuck, if you don't know, is Ritchie Cunningham's older brother on Happy Days who disappeared after two seasons). Brian loved a good piece of obscure trivia.
Brian lived a quiet and simple life that started on a day of love and ended on a day of thanks. In lieu of donations, the family would like you to grab a friend (or a couple), head out to a neighborhood bar, and raise a toast to Brian (he would probably have a Bud Light, but wouldn't mind if you drank your favorite spirit)!
A celebration of Brian will be held at the Pike Bar & Grill (10010 Springfield Pike) on December 11, 2025 from 5-8.
