Carol Sue Heil, age 78, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026.
Born on April 14, 1948, Carol grew up in Green Hills, Ohio, and spent her life devoted to her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, cherished daughter, loving sister and aunt, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful friend whose kindness touched the lives of many.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Margaret Helfrich; her beloved husband, Alfred Heil; and her grandson, Zachary Lane.
She is survived by her children, Scott Lane (Nicole Lane) and Christopher Lane (Carrie Lane); her stepchildren, Dwayne Heil, Rhonda Heil, and Michael Heil (Lisa Heil); her grandchildren, Kiersten Vatter (Cody Vatter), Victoria Lane, Alexander Lane, Nathan Lane, Taylor Lane (Olivia Lane), Hannah Collins (Erik Collins); her step-grandchildren, Joshua Hacker, Ricky Lee Miller, Shawn Hacker, Justin Miller, Alexis Taylor, Brieahna Taylor, and Shiann Taylor; and her great-grandchildren, Carson Vatter, Paisley Vatter, Ali Sanders, Oakley Shanks, Addie Lane, Noah Lane, Logan Lane, Zander Lane, Lucy Collins, Emilee Lane, Kohen Lane, Ella Collins, Baby Lane (due next month), and Ruby Brazier.
Carol dedicated 19 years of service to Meijer. She enjoyed traveling to Tennessee, collecting Barbies and nutcrackers, shopping for her family, but her favorite thing was spending time with those she loved.
Carol was known for loving her family fiercely. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she took every opportunity to make them feel loved and special.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will take place on Friday June 5, 2026, from 10 am until the time of the funeral service beginning at 11 am, at Hodapp Funeral Home in West Chester, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus RD (US 42), West Chester, OH 45069.
In lieu of flowers family has requested donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or plant a remembrance tree in her honor.
