Carol Ann Vogel

Vogel, Carol Ann (nee Burton). Beloved wife of Robert Vogel. Loving mother of Jason Vogel and Sarah (Kenneth) Laschinger. Devoted grandmother to Sydney, Hudson and Henry Laschinger. Sister of Mary Napier and Theodore Burton. Daughter of the late Robert Burton and the late Margaret Sheard. Carol will also be missed by her loving dog Rudy. Carol graduated from Lakota High School. Carol proudly served in the United States Navy from 1977-1980 as a Personnelman and achieved the rank of Petty Officer 3rd class while stationed at NAS Pensacola, Florida. She graduated from the D. Russell Lee LPN Nursing program. She was a dedicated and committed nurse for 38 years, who lovingly and unselfishly cared above and beyond for her patients. Carol worked at Garden Manor Extended Care, Willow Knoll, Black Stone Home Health Care & Monroe Medical Center. She and Robert could always be found as supportive parents & grandparents on the sidelines of many Bishop Fenwick, Mother Teresa and Mount Notre Dame sporting events. Carol’s voice was always recognizable as she yelled DEFENSE! Carol loved visiting the beach. She loved sitting in beach chairs, the warm sun on her face, and the ocean breeze while listening to the waves. Carol also enjoyed time at her “happy place” at Grand Lake St. Marys. She loved spending time boating, swimming at the pool with friends, and cooking out. Her mornings were her favorite time of the day as she enjoyed her coffee on the party patio and riding her bike. Carol was blessed with many friends. Everyone will tell you that she was always so much fun. Book Club was her favorite. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, at 11:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 330 Lebanon Street, Monroe, Ohio with private interment at Mound Cemetery in Monroe, Ohio.
