Carolyn E. Ungruhe

UNGRUHE, Carolyn E. Daughter of the late Frank and Florence Ungruhe. Dear sister of the late Virginia (Bernard) Heile, Rita Ungruhe, and Francis (Charlotte) Ungruhe. Also preceded in death by 1 niece and survived by 17 nieces and nephews, 27 great and 27 great great nieces and nephews. Saturday, March 30, 2024, Age 86. Lifelong resident of St. Bernard and worked her whole career in St. Bernard: 21 years for 5/3 Bank and 31 years in City Hall.  She had many accomplishments in her lifetime:  Treasurer for the Holiday Activity Committee for 28 years; Treasurer for the German Luau for 12 years; Chairperson of German Luau for 1 year; President of St. Clement Woman’s Society and Secretary for St. Clement Secular Franciscan; Treasurer for St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce for 9 years; worked St. Clement bingo for 32 years; was the first women to serve on City Council; Member of the Progressive Citizens Political Party for 47 years and treasurer for that party 12 years. Visitation 9-11 am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Clement Church, 4536 Vine Street, St. Bernard, Friday, April 5.  Memorials may be made to St. Clement Church.
