Charles C. McAfee, age 94, died peacefully in his sleep at the Ohio Living Mount Pleasant long-term Nursing Care unit on July 15, 2022.
Charles is survived by his wife of 76 years, Dorothy J. (Phillips) McAfee; daughters Charlene J. (McAfee) Moss and Phyllis R. (McAfee) Emick (Lou); grandchildren Stephen D. Moss (Jennifer Darling), Bryan D. Moss, Hilary J. (Moss) Houff (Michael), and Heidi C. (Moss) Macy (Noah), Philip J. Emick, Neal C. Emick, C. Curtis McAfee, and Janelle E. (McAfee) Claprood (Brian R., Sr.); great-grandchildren Makenzie M. Moss, Rogan A. Moss, Benjamin E. Macy, Tyler D. Macy, Brandon D. Houff, Brianna E (Claprood) Tellez (Julio), Victoria M. Claprood, Brian R. Claprood, Jr, Madison N. McAfee, and Caleb C. McAfee; he is also survived by daughters-in-law Donna L. McAfee and Virginia M. McAfee, several nieces, nephews and many loved ones.
He was preceded in death by parents Raymond R. and Ruth I. (Bartholomew) McAfee, of Sharonville, Ohio, son C. Craig McAfee, of Mason, Ohio, and son-in-law David B. Moss, of Monroe, Ohio.
Charles was born at home in Sharonville, Ohio, on July 4, 1928. He graduated from Sharonville High School in 1946. He married Dorothy J. Phillips on July 13, 1946, at Lockland Baptist Church. He retired after twenty-five years as a well-known Body Shop Manager; Playing golf was one of his favorite hobbies. He also enjoyed fishing and boating at Indian Lake and treasured the family gatherings held at their lake cottage.
Private family services and burial have been arranged by Hodapp Funeral Home, West Chester, Ohio.
