Charles A Warren

July 8, 1945 — December 15, 2022

Charles Albert Warren of Lebanon Ohio, age 77, was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 8, 1945.  He went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2022.

Charlie was preceded in death by parents Clarence and Ethel Warren, his sisters Thelma Glines and Clara Swain. Survived by wife Dorothy Warren, sister Margaret (Harry) Kennedy, children Sue (Bob) Franz, Jim Friend, and Sonya (Jeff) Klaas, grandchildren Eric (Emma) Franz, Heidi (Xander) Reynolds, Justin (Becky) Friend, Brandon (Sydnie) Friend, Derek Klaas, Amanda Klaas, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Charlie enlisted in the Navy from August 1965-1969 and served in the Vietnam War as a medic in the Marines.  He earned a Doctor of Divinity from Grace Apostolic College and has been active in the Christian Faith throughout his life.  He was a dedicated employee of Ohio Edison for 18 years where he was acknowledged “to be a reliable employee with excellent attitude and pleasant personality…he has shown a Christian attitude that has proven very charitable to his fellow workers when they are in need”.  Charlie was a great example of how to work with dedication and integrity and how to be a light in the workforce.

Charlie was a devoted husband to his wife Dorothy Warren of 34 years.  He was a strong family man who was known for his strong loving hugs, corny jokes, and resounding laugh.  He was cherished by his children and adored by his grandchildren.  Charlie had a great faith in God and was dedicated to the study of the Word of God.  He was most recently an active member and teacher at Strafford Heights Church of God.

Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family.  He spoiled his grandchildren rotten and taught them catchy children’s songs that made their parents laugh.  He enjoyed sitting on the front porch talking with his family and neighbors.  Charlie loved fishing so much so that he even endured “princess” fishing with all the girls in the family without complaint.  He loved telling stories from his work, military time, and his childhood. He really had some great stories.  Charlie loved studying his bible and discussing all the aspects of the Christian faith with family and friends.  Charlie is greatly loved and will be missed by the many who knew him.
