Cheryl Ann Abrams, age 70, of St. Bernard, Ohio, left us unexpectedly on May 29, 2025. Born on April 4, 1955, Cheryl dedicated her life to her family, her work, and her passions, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
After a fulfilling career in various administrative roles; her most rewarding being the Secretary to the Mayor of St. Bernard, she retired in 2024. Cheryl will fondly be remembered by colleagues and friends alike for her tenacity and unwavering support. Her kindness and loving nature were coupled with a delightful candor; she was never shy to speak her mind.
Throughout her life, Cheryl cherished the moments spent with her family, especially during the holidays when laughter and love filled the air. Her true joy was found in her grandchildren, Megan and Kyle, whom she adored. Whether cheering from the stands or championing their dreams from the sidelines, Cheryl was a constant source of support, a devoted “Maw Maw" whose presence illuminated their lives.
Cheryl had a flair for pampering herself and enjoyed indulging in activities that brought her joy, such as shopping, getting massages, and frequent visits to the salon for her hair, nails, and more. She found great pleasure in attending Broadway shows and plays, holiday and country craft shopping, immersing herself in a good book, watching Christmas movies and especially scrolling through Facebook. Throughout each season, she could be found passionately cheering for her favorite sports teams, especially the Cincinnati Bearcats, Bengals, and Reds. She was also known to enjoy a good game of Shang-hi or Euchre every now and then.
Her love for life shone brightly in her hobbies and interests, reflecting a spirit that embraced both fun and family. Cherished memories will remain in the hearts of her loved ones, cementing her legacy as a kind-hearted, spirited woman whose life was a dedicated tapestry of love, family, and shared experiences.
Cheryl is survived by her devoted husband, Arthur (Butch) Abrams; her beloved daughter, Brandy Hauser; her treasured grandchildren, Megan and Kyle Hauser; her siblings and their spouses, including Greg and Sandy Sims, Donna and Lynn Gamble, Gary and Marlene Sims, Kevin and Rose Sims, MaryAnn and Tom Wolf; her nephews and nieces, including Lance (Erin) Sims, Holly (Keith) Clayton, Duane (Amy) Gamble, Matt (Niki) Gamble, Neil (Amy) Gamble, Jamie Sims, Heather (Ryan) Hoffmann, Kelly Sims, Cory (Emily) Sims, Derek (Nicole) Sims, Bryan (Carly) Wolf, and Johnathan Wolf; and her many great-nephews and nieces who will all carry her love forward.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Sims; her stepfather, Louis Schmidt; and her mother, Barbara (Sims) Schmidt.
Cheryl's departure leaves a profound void in the lives of so many, but her spirit will live on through the memories and the love she so generously shared. In every cheerful holiday, every spirited game, and every card played, the essence of Cheryl will be forever present, reminding us all to embrace life with kindness, love, and a hint of playfulness and attitude.
