Clarence (Sonny) L. Haubner

Clarence (Sonny) Louis Haubner, age 76 of Colerain Twp., passed away at 5:08 pm at Mercy Hospital, due to his long hard fight with COPD and CHF.

Sonny was born on August 6, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Clarence and Fay Haubner.

Sonny and Kerri (Hunter) Haubner had been together for 23 years and married for 22 years. They were married on October 10, 2003.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife Kerri; his sister Louella (Gary) Callahan; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charlie and Robin Dewald; his children Sonja (Chris) Hood, Ken (Liz) Haubner, Emily Bye, Matthew Haubner, and Martin Haubner.

His grandchildren are Audric, Nick, Holly, Natalie, Arianna, and Marissa. His great-grandchildren are Novah and Kayden, and his nieces and nephews are Roy, Angie, Lauren, and Nick.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Fay Haubner; his daughter Kimbery Fay Hallman (Matt); and his twin granddaughters Kaylie and Allie Bye.

Sonny will be remembered for his wonderful personality, free spirit, and love for his country. He was a true patriot, friend, and hero throughout his life. He loved collecting anything military. He enjoyed riding his Harley and loved singing. But most of all, he loved his family and the family get-togethers in his home.

Sonny was a Marine and Army National Guardsman. He served in Vietnam, where he earned two Purple Hearts, Operation Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. Sonny was also a Federal Fire Fighter and EMT for 27 years. A Mason in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a proud member and Head Treasurer at the VFW in Harrison, Ohio. He also received a Bachelor’s Degree.

Sonny's Visitation will be held on January 24, 2026 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45224 from 10:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM.

His Celebration of Life will be held directly after at Izaac Walton League of America, Cincinnati Chapter, 3504 Bevis Lane, Cincinnati, OH 45251 from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
