Clifford B. Hodapp, husband of 38 years to Diana Hodapp (née Luecke), loving father to Steve (Elizabeth), Scott (Michele), Elizabeth Hoadley (née Hodapp), and Marty (Erika), Mike, Mark (Maureen), and Matthew Huber, proud grandfather of Ashley, Olivia, Whitney, Luke, Blake, Trent, Lauren, Gavin, Ashley, Adam, Jessica, Morgan, Madison, Macey, Zoey, John, Luke, Jude, and Quentin, also survived by many great grandchildren, dear brother of the late Jeanne (Tom) Schmidt, Jim (Janice) Hodapp, Mary Louise (late Ray) Loase.
Cliff was born on July 22, 1939 to the late Marian (Janszen) and Clifford B. Hodapp of Bond Hill. Cliff was married for 38 years to Diana spending time playing golf together, traveling, and spending their winters at their Florida home in Bradenton. There were never many moments where you wouldn’t see Diana if you saw Cliff.
Cliff spent his entire career working at Hodapp Funeral Home, following in his father’s footsteps, to help comfort and care for those who lost their loved ones and lay them to rest.
He spent his summers playing golf at Clovernook Country Club and winters at Tara Country Club in Bradenton. He enjoyed being on the course with his closest of friends and had no shame in winning any skins. By night he would love to show off his dancing skills.
Cliff loved his sports. Playing softball and basketball well into his later life. He would always tell people “I was the limbo champion.” Cliff loved his Cincinnati teams, especially Xavier Basketball, Cincinnati Reds, and the Cincinnati Bengals. You could have conversations on these teams for days on days with him.
Cliff enjoyed being with his wife and seeing his family. Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa was something Cliff was proud to be. Cliff battled cancer for 7 months and his strength and will to live and be with the ones he loved shined brighter than ever during that time. Cliff will always be remembered as someone who could make you laugh at an unexpected time and comfort you when you needed it most. To Cliff no one was a stranger and the impact he brought in his lifetime will never be forgotten, he will be missed dearly by many.
