Dale Ivory May

Dale Ivory May, age 75 of Cincinnati passed away on Friday, May 19th after fighting a courageous battle with a pulmonary illness.  He was born in Casey County, Kentucky on November 25, 1947, the son of the late Henry and Stella May (nee Burton) of Cincinnati, Ohio.  Dale was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, and foster parent.  Dale was a true believer in God.  He was a wonderful person with a witty sense of humor.  Dale was a retired postal worker and proudly serviced in the United States Air Force.  He will be terribly missed by everyone.

He was proceeded in death by his wife of 45 years Jan May.  His father and mother-in-law Roger and Peggy Partington, sister-in-law Marlene May, brother-in-law Keith Scott, brother-in-law Mark Partington, brother-in-law Thomas Bradrick, niece Kathryn Smith, niece Ashley Partington, foster son Maurice “Reecie”.

He is survived by his eight children:  Margaret “Peggy” Moorman (Michael); Kelly Kunau (Roger); William “Tim” McDonald; Jacob (Alicia) May, Joshua (India) May; Rebekah “Mattie” May (Ricky); Jeremiah May (Tiana); Hannah May (James).  His 15 Grandchildren:  Trisha Parry (Domenic “Dom”), Conor Moorman, Samuel Kunau, Logan Moorman, Noah May, Noelle May, Anyla May, Malik May, Navi May, Alivia May, Greyson Davis, Maurice “Reese” May, Gunner Garcia, Miah Lynn Spells and Joy May.  His five Great Grandchildren:  Elise Justice, Myra Justice, Camile Travis, Daphne Travis, and Jamison Travis.  Brothers and sister-In-law:  Ronald May and Donald (Karen) May.  Sisters and brothers-in-laws:  Derene (Steve) Rindler, Regene (Gordon) Loggins and Marlene Scott.  Sister-in-law Anne Bradrick (Jack).  Nieces and nephews:  Ronnie, Beverly, Kim, Adam, Robin, Steven Lee, Eddie, Michael Dale, Brian, Rodney, Justin, and Jeremy.  Kristy, Bart, and Karen.  Many great nieces and nephews and longtime family friend Carol Pearson.

Funeral Services will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd., Liberty Township, OH  45044 on Tuesday, May 30th. Visitation starts at 10:00 with the service at 11:00, Pastor Christie of the Eaton Road Church of God will officiate.  Immediately following the service, we will meet for the burial at Polk Grove Cemetery, 9190 Frederick Pike, Dayton, OH  45414.  At 3:00 Food and Fellowship at Eaton Road of Church of God, 2000 Eaton Rd. Hamilton, OH  45013.
