Daniel King Helton was born on September 25, 1947, in Alva, Kentucky, and peacefully departed this life on July 4, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. His journey through life spanned 78 years, marked by laughter, innovation, and the steadfast love of friends and family.
Daniel was the cherished son of Onzel Dorthan Helton and Mary Helen King, and he grew up surrounded by the rolling hills of Kentucky. From an early age, Daniel’s curiosity and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. He completed his high school education with a commitment to learning that would serve him well throughout his life.
Daniel dedicated his career to the automotive industry, working many years as an auto worker with General Motors as well as with Ogara Hess and Eisenhardt. His skilled hands and thoughtful approach earned the respect of his colleagues and left a lasting mark on those workplaces. Upon retirement, Daniel reflected with satisfaction on his years of service, and the friendships he had cultivated along the way.
Those who knew Daniel best remember him for his keen wit and infectious humor. Whether sharing a light-hearted story or offering encouragement, he brightened the lives of many. Daniel was also deeply passionate about technology, always exploring new advancements and encouraging others to embrace the future with curiosity and optimism.
Daniel’s greatest legacy, however, is the family he loved and who now hold his memory dear. He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Morrison and Dawn Hollingsworth, and his son, Daniel Helton. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Betty J. Helton, siblings: Onsel David Helton, Dorthaline Siler, Wilma Howard, Brenda Mullins, Dennis Helton, and Ron Helton. Daniel’s parents, Onzel Dorthan Helton and Mary Helen King.
