David Henry Blaut, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on May 4, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 65. Born on October 17, 1959, he was a proud graduate of Roger Bacon High School, where he forged lifelong friendships and cultivated the exceptional storytelling ability that endeared him to many. His warmth and light shone brightly through his over 40 years as a civil engineer for the City of Cincinnati and Prus Construction, where he was known for his integrity and commitment to his craft.
Dave's passion for his work was rivaled only by his love for the great outdoors. He thrived in nature's embrace, whether he was hunting, fishing, camping, or golfing, forging connections with family and friends during moments spent together under the open skies. His zest for life and unwavering kindness meant that he never met a stranger; every encounter was an opportunity for a good story and a warmer heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Chandler Blaut; his cherished children, Jessica (Ryan) Moore, Kevin (Caitlin) Blaut, and Caitlin (Bryan) Comer; and his precious grandchildren, Cassidy, Cora, Callie, David, Josie, and Scottie, who were undoubtedly his proudest accomplishments. He found immense joy in their laughter and the bonds they created, pouring out his love through moments both big and small.
Dave is also mourned by his siblings, Rebecca (Frank) Glowacki, Stephen (Kathy) Blaut, Lori (Michael) Fehr, and Michael (Missy) Blaut, along with his sister-in-law Nancy Blaut, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who stood by him through the threads of life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Blaut; his mother, Ruth Blaut; and his brother, Daniel Blaut. The legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable tales that Dave left behind will continue to inspire all who knew him, reminding us that life is not just about the milestones we reach but the stories we weave along the way. His spirit, reflected in the smiles of his family and friends, will forever remain etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to call him theirs.
