David Thomas Conroy

David Thomas Conroy, born on Christmas Day in Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

David is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Rosario (Rose) Rosina Alvarez, and their children: Patrick and Tania, Rachel and Jason, and John and Katherine (Kat). He was a proud grandfather to Cain, Lydia, Abby, Ethan, Jake, and Hudson, and a great-grandfather to Lylith and Josef.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent Joseph Conroy and Olga Marie Elisoi Conroy; his brothers, Vincent (Joe), John (Jack), and Daniel; and his brother-in-law, Jose (Pepe) Alvarez. David is also survived by his loving siblings, Louise, Bernard, and Catherine, along with many cherished nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Spain.

David was a graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio; Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio; and the University of Virginia. His banking career took him from Los Angeles to Honolulu, New York City, and Omaha, the city in which he and Rose raised their three children. He concluded his professional journey in Cincinnati, where his family continued to grow and thrive.

In 1993, David was medically disabled due to Spasmodic Torticollis. Prior to his illness, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed softball, basketball, camping, and fishing. Throughout his life, and especially during his years of illness, David found comfort in music, reading, and his deep Catholic faith.
