Liberty Township, OH

David Earl Hayes, a beloved figure in the hearts of many, was born on June 28, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio. His journey in this life came to a solemn close on November 13, 2025, succumbing to the grips of lung cancer, but not before leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched with his kindness, resilience, and unwavering love.

From a young age, David exemplified strength and warmth, qualities that flourished throughout his personal and professional endeavors. He dedicated a significant portion of his career as an electrician at Ford Motor Company, where his skills intertwined with a deep diligence, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

David served honorably in the United States Army for two years, a testament to his commitment and duty to his country. This experience shaped him into the man he became—tough yet tender-hearted, embodying a spirit of determination and integrity that would follow him throughout his life.

Anita Hayes, his loving wife, was his steadfast partner through all seasons, sharing countless memories by the river, cheering together for their beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, and basking in the glow of family time. They created a home steeped in love, filled with the laughter of grandchildren, and the warmth of generations.

He found joy in the simplest of moments, reveling in the warmth of family gatherings, and the laughter shared during projects around the house or at camp. Family was central to David’s existence; he was a proud father to Scott (Jaclyn), Rob (Stephanie), and Jennifer (Dennis), the accomplishments of his children marking some of the proudest milestones of his life. He cherished his role not just as a father, but also as a supportive grandfather to Thomas, William, Norah, Josephine, Hayes, Bettie Lou—whose smiles reflected his own joy.

Preceding David in rest were his parents, Earl and Lucille “Connie” Hayes, along with his sister, Pamela DeRonde. Their memories will forever ring in the echoes of David’s laughter, a reminder of the bonds formed in youth, which shaped the person he became.

In honoring David Earl Hayes, we celebrate a man of unwavering kindness, a loving spirit who always had a comment to offer, a hug to give, and a lesson to impart. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, reminding us to cherish each moment and uphold the values of love, family, and friendship. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, let us carry his memory like a warm embrace, guiding us through our lives as he would have wished.
