David Lawrence Loft

David Lawrence Loft passed away on Wednesday, March 24th, in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Born in 1935 in Akron, Ohio, his family moved to Portsmouth, Ohio, when he was very young and he was a resident there for over 70 years before moving to Cincinnati.  He started working for his father at an early age at Loft Realty Co. and went on to establish Loft Painting & Decorating Co., which is still operating successfully today in Florida by his son David Jr.  David was very active in many local organizations including the Board at SOMC, Rotary and the local chapter of the American Heart Association, of which he was served as President at one time.  He was co-owner of Dreamland Pool for many years and helped build Dreamland Racquet Club, bringing indoor tennis to the area. He is survived by his wife, Mabel (Dutsy) Irene Loft and his three children, David Lawrence Loft, Jr., Douglas Alan Loft and Deborah Loft Mauro.  He also leaves behind six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
