David William Forney

David William Forney, age 62, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away January 17, 2022 at his home. He was born March 12, 1959 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Jacob Charles Forney and Janet (Troutman) Forney.  He attended Bishop McDevitt Catholic HIgh School in Harrisburg, PA. He continued his education at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, graduating in 1981 with a bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

He worked as a mechanical engineer for American Electric Power in Ohio, for Illinois Power in Illinois, and for Effox, Inc. / CECO Environmental in the West Chester, Ohio area. Dave was a member of Beckett Ridge Country Club for many years, and enjoyed golf, platform tennis, games, trivia, and music.

He is survived by his wife, Julie (Mahle) Forney, and 3 grown children: Emily Forney of Pittsburgh, PA, Briana (Forney) Kerr of Columbus, Ohio, and Connor Forney of Pittsburgh, PA.  He is also survived by his brother Jake Forney and his wife, Barbara, of Carlisle. PA, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet, and recently his father, Charlie.

A memorial visitation is planned for Friday, February 4, from noon to 3 p.m., at St. John's Church in their Pavilion building, 9080 Cincinnati Dayton Road, West Chester, OH 45069. Donations can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or the American Cancer Society.
