Delores “Dee” Daniels, beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at the age of 89. Her life was a testament to love, care, and unwavering support for her family and friends. Born on February 26, 1936, Delores graduated from Bell County High School in Kentucky, where she began her journey of nurturing those around her.
Throughout her career, Delores dedicated her life to the financial departments of Sears, JcPenny, and SuperX. Her dedication and hard work were evident in all her endeavors, yet it was her role as a caring figure in the lives of those she loved that defined her legacy. A mother figure to many, Delores was known for her warm hospitality, always welcoming everyone into her home, ensuring they had a place to eat and sleep. Her passion for gardening provided not only beauty to her surroundings but also a nurturing environment for family gatherings, especially at the much-anticipated Daniels and Sutton family reunions.
Delores cherished her family unconditionally. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Daniels, who supported her unwavering commitment to her family after the passing of her father when she was just 18. Together, they worked to ensure that Delores’ siblings were well cared for. Delores is survived by her devoted daughter, Teresa DeBorde (Rick) and her daughters: Becky Daniels, Amy Kroening (Duane Pemberton), Andrea Mulling (Ben), and her cherished grandchildren, Nathan DeBorde (Anna), Christopher Callis, Denille Moore (Jeremy), Summer Mullins, along with great-grandchildren Mikayla Hockett (Jacob), Katie Thorpe (Riley), Alex Turk (Alyssa), Naomi Turk, Ethan Mulling (Faith), Ella Mulling, Evan Mulling, Isaac DeBorde, Jude DeBorde, Flynn DeBorde, Evie DeBorde, Spencer Mullins, Jupiter Mullins, and Violet Mullins, as well as great-granddaughter Mireya Moore.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Delores is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Engle, brother Basil (Connie), brother-in-law Ronnie, sister-in-law Lena, and two sisters-in-law from the Daniels side, Judy Smith and Ruby Twinam. Delores also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, and friends whose lives she touched in countless ways.
Delores was preceded in death by her siblings: Tom Sutton, Don Sutton, Betty Burchett, and Janet Roberts, as well as brothers-in-law John Engle and Ray Burchett. Her parents, Tipton and Hazel Sutton, also preceded her in death.
A visitation will take place on October 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hodapp Funeral Homes - West Chester, located at 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, OH 45069.
Delores Daniels leaves a legacy of love and compassion that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, and her spirit will live on through her family and the many memories they shared together.
