Delores Hatfield, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18th at Bethesda North Hospital while holding her son’s hand due to complications of lung cancer and heart issues.
Delores “Dee” was born in Norwood, Ohio in 1947 and will be cremated with her remains buried next to her late husband, Anthony Hatfield, in a plot at Graceland Memorial in Milford, Ohio.
Dee was the best mother a son could ever dream of having, best grandmother, wife, and friend. She was a kind and caring person and was loved by many. Everyone knew Dee as “Nana” and she touched the lives of many people around her and will be dearly missed.
Dee was a huge baseball fan and loved nothing more than watching the Cincinnati Reds, Earlham College, Midland, and Edgewood HS. She rarely missed games. We know that Nana will continue to support her teams from Heaven.
Dee worked at Gibson Greetings card for over 20 years and then Bethesda North Hospital before retiring to help watch her grandchildren.
Dee is survived by her son Ken Hatfield (Wife Tracey Hatfield); grandchildren Megan Hatfield, Morgan Hatfield, and Austin Hatfield (Wife Hannah Hatfield); her brother Jack Young, and Jim Young.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents Zella and Gerald; husband Anthony Hatfield; and brother Jerry Young.
Per Dee’s wishes, there will be no funeral or traditional services. For everyone who loved her, thank you for making her life full.
