Donald Shanks

SHANKS, Col. Donald L., beloved husband of Norma Shanks for 67 years. Loving father of Roxanne (Frank) Lithenhaus. Grandfather of Kara (Bill) Kelley. Great-grandfather of Hannah Fulks and Tobey Kelley. Also survived by Keynna Thomas, whom they raised with love. Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the age of 88. Visitation at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine St., Carthage, Tuesday, October 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service at the Parish Center, 3908 Plainville Rd., 45227, Wednesday at 11 a.m. Mr. Shanks retired as Chief of Police of the Village of Mariemont in 1987 after 33 years of service and served 4 years as mayor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to “The Shield”, 7149 Ridge Rd., Cinti, OH 45237.
