Donna Lucas, born on March 15, 1946, in Hamilton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her hometown on February 15, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. Donna graduated from The Ohio State University "O-H" in 1968 before pursuing her master's degree at Kent State University. A dedicated educator, she taught for Fairfield City Schools from 1986 until her retirement in 2007, an event that allowed her to spend more cherished time with her husband, Matthew, with whom she shared a loving marriage for 47 wonderful years. Throughout their time together, she often spoke about Matt, fondly referring to him as the "nicest guy," a testament to the deep affection they had for one another.

Throughout her life, Donna had a variety of interests and experiences. She was particularly known for her love of sweets, especially those adorned with chocolate, and was always on the hunt for great deals while shopping. Donna had a passion for traveling, playing bridge, spending countless joyful hours at the lake house, gardening, walking, attending OSU football "Go BUCKS"  and reading. Her interests also included boating, hiking, and wine tasting, but most importantly, she treasured the time spent with family.

In her community, Donna was an active participant in numerous initiatives. She proudly volunteered for Meals on Wheels and worked with the clothes group at her church, showing her selfless spirit and commitment to helping others. Donna was also involved with the Fairfield Women and Welcomers, where she made many contributions, embodying her welcoming personality that included smiling at everyone and engaging in meaningful conversations with anyone who crossed her path.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Melissa Reed; her son, Jonathan Lucas; her son-in-law, Mark Reed and daughter-in-law Jamie Lucas; her granddaughters, Allison and Ashley Reed; and her sister, Eloise Berglund. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruth Agee, and her husband, Matthew Lucas Jr. The legacy of Donna Lucas will forever be remembered through the countless memories made with family and friends, her kindness, and her unwavering spirit. She touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed.Visitation is Saturday, March 7 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, Liberty Township, Ohio 45044 from 12:30-2:00.
