Dorothy Anne Amann

Sep 2, 1942 — Oct 8, 2026

Dorothy (Dotty) Amann (née Dimitruk), born in 1942 in Boston, MA, passed away peacefully at home after a long journey with dementia. Dotty met her husband, Harry Amann, at Fort Devens, and together they shared 61 years of marriage in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband Harry; daughters Holly Amann, Elizabeth Amann, and Amy Pigman (Craig); sister Carolyn Priest (and the late Tony); grandsons Jacob Seeley (Pola), Brian Pauly, Brent Pigman, and Ryan Pigman; and three great‑granddaughters, Gaia, Melania, and Matilda Seeley; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Louis Dimitruk, and her sister Pauline.

Dotty found great joy in sewing, crocheting, and embroidery, talents she lovingly used to touch the lives of countless people. Her hands were rarely still, and her heart was always at work creating something special for someone she loved. From thoughtful gifts and beautifully embroidered keepsakes to cozy baby blankets, Dotty’s creations were expressions of her care, patience, and love. Family and friends will forever treasure the many gifts she made, each stitch carrying a reminder of her warm and giving spirit.

She believed that the best gifts were made from the heart, and she spent countless hours crafting items that brought comfort, joy, and lasting memories to others. Her creativity, attention to detail, and generosity made her gift-giving truly special.

Dorothy also cherished time spent vacationing at York Beach, Maine, with Carol and Tony. Those trips created some of her favorite memories, filled with laughter, seaside views, and the special companionship they shared. York Beach held a special place in her heart and remained a treasured source of joy.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear."

Memorial donations may be made to Beyond Type One or Queen City Hospice.
