Edward J. Schlef Sr.

Edward J. Schlef Sr., a cherished member of the Cincinnati community, passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on March 22, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Edward lived a life characterized by his generosity, quick wit, and intelligence.

For many years, Edward dedicated his professional life as a foreman at United Dairy Farmers, where he made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the operations of the business. His personality shone through not only in his work ethic but also in the relationships he cultivated along the way. Edward was known to bring humor and a sense of camaraderie to every environment.

Edward is survived by his son, Ed Schlef Jr., and his wife, Karen; his son Ronald Schlef; his daughter-in-law Cathy Gebell; his granddaughter Faith; and Faith’s mother Angie. He is also remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews who appreciated his warm and loving nature.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, together they shared 64 years of marriage. His beloved father Harry Schlef, mother Rose Schlef, and son Steven Schlef. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A graveside service will be held on April 22, 2025, at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery located at 11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249. The service will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude by 11:00 AM.

Edward J. Schlef Sr.'s legacy will undoubtedly endure through the lives he touched and the loving memories shared by his family and friends.
