Elsa Lyn Grote, born on August 28, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family.
Elsa was a dedicated and caring individual who greatly valued her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren, Mason and Anders Grote. She was known for her genuine personality, warmth, and contagious sense of humor, qualities that brought joy to those around her. Elsa could effortlessly engage with anyone, always ready with a joke or a kind word. Her friends and family often remarked that she had her own unique light—it was impossible not to smile or feel uplifted in her presence. Known affectionately as “kind of a badass,” Elsa's spirit and positivity left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
A proud graduate of Princeton High School in 1970, Elsa continued to embrace learning throughout her life. Notably, she returned to school later in life to embark on a new career, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and her belief in the power of education, even in the face of life’s challenges. Her professional path included dedicated roles in the service department at Wullenweber Motors and as a medical assistant at Cincinnati GI, where she consistently went above and beyond for her customers and patients.
Elsa had a profound love for animals and cherished her time spent with her dog, Ellie. She found joy in nurturing her friendships and maintaining connections with loved ones throughout her life.
Elsa is survived by her son, Eric Grote, and daughter-in-law, Kelly Grote, alongside her cherished grandchildren, Mason and Anders. She will be lovingly remembered by her close friend, Sharon Blau, and many others whose lives she touched with her warmth and humor.
She now joins her husband, Gary Grote; her father, Marvin Franklin; her mother, Rhoda Franklin; and her sisters, Cindy Franklin and Ingrid Fabian, who have preceded her in death.
Elsa's legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind an enduring spirit that inspired those fortunate enough to have known her.
