Ervin Dalton, Age 79, departed this life on Thursday, May 14, 2026. He was born on October 12, 1946 in Middletown, Ohio to the parents of Clay and Dexter (Wolfenbarger) Dalton. He retired from the Kroger Company in 2002 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Yankee Road First Church of God in Middletown, served as a Hospital Corpsman (HM3) in the U.S. Navy including Vietnam. He enjoyed traveling to all 50 states with his wife, Rose. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan, enjoyed genealogy, Civil War buff, and attending different sports venues. Saw a baseball game in 52 different MLB stadiums and 54 different minor league ballparks. Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Richard; one brother, Lonnie and one sister, Bonnie. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose Irene Nation; one son, Michael of Centerville; two brothers: Russell (Edna) of Franklin; and Ronald (Nyoka) of Maineville: and one sister, Juanita Collins of Beavercreek. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, Liberty Township, Ohio 45044 from 11 AM until time of funeral service at 12:30 PM. The service will be conducted by Rev. Kevin Collins. Burial to follow at North Monroe Cemetery.
