Esther Elizabeth Geers (nee Vogel), age 92, of Finneytown, passed away peacefully on September 21st, 2026, surrounded by family. Esther was born on April 1st (Easter Sunday), 1934, in Greensburg, Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Frances Vogel and beloved sibling of Albert F. ( Mary Ann) Vogel, Maurice A.(Irene) Vogel, Mary Louise (Joseph ) Gallagher, Ruth F. (George) Barter, and Janet L. (Richard) Scholl. Esther grew up in Greensburg, Indiana and graduated from St. Mary’s Elementary School, Greensburg High School, and Indiana Business College. Esther married John “Jack” Francis Geers on November 15th, 1958 at St. Mary’s church in Greensburg. They shared 40 years of marriage together. Her beloved husband, Jack, preceded her in death on February 7th, 1999. Known to many friends as “Liz”, Esther was an avid seamstress, card player, loving mother, and grandmother. She possessed a keen intelligence, a strong work ethic, a playful sense of humor, and a kindness for all she met. A member of St. Vivian Parish for over 50 years, Esther was the quiet embodiment of faith and compassion. Esther is survived by her beloved children: J. Michael (Linda) Geers; Stephen “Steve” Geers (Donna Palmatary); Ann (Timothy) Fallon; Timothy (Deb) Geers; James (Mary) Geers; Susan Geers-Meiners (Robert J. Meiners); Christine (John) Weintz; and her beloved grandchildren: Nathan, Natalie, Cherylyn, Sean, Allison, Sam, Drew, Ethan, Noah, Megan, Lindsey, Elizabeth “Styx”, Jack, Ben, Luke, Ellie, and Joey.

Visitation will be held on Sunday September 27, 2026 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Avenue, College Hill, OH 45224 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 28, 2026 at St. Vivian Church, 7600 Winton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45224 at 11:00 AM.
