Evan Roger Whitten, 33, passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2025, at his home in Monroe, Ohio, with his beloved companion and shelter dog, Rags, by his side.
Born on September 25, 1992, in the Cincinnati area, Evan was the youngest of three sons of Dennis and Bonnie (Trumpore) Whitten. He always brought a quick wit and a smile to those around him; a master of random facts, Evan had a lovable gift for always knowing something you didn’t even know you didn’t know.
He was a talented percussionist in his high school band and a passionate guitarist at home, often enjoying jam sessions with his brothers and close friends. Music was a lifelong love and a shared language in his family.
A student of Lebanon High School and the University of Cincinnati, Evan worked as a pharmacy technician at Christ Hospital and previously at Pharmcare USA.
He was a faithful member of the Bethany Church Youth Group, an avid gamer, and a devoted player of Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer. His hobbies brought him into a wide and loyal circle of friends. He truly cherished those friendships throughout his life.
Evan was also a passionate sports fan, cheering for FC Cincinnati and Liverpool FC, following Formula One racing, and enjoying board games of all kinds.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fern Amelia Reichert and John Tyler Whitten, and his maternal grandparents, Linda Dowdell Trumpore and George Emmett Trumpore Sr.
Evan is survived by his loving parents, Dennis and Bonnie, and his beloved brothers and lifelong bandmates, Brian (Brittany) and Patrick (Kayla). He is also survived by his nieces, Hailey and Hannah, and nephews, Connor and Finley, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride. Evan adored being their uncle.
His gentle soul, jovial humor, and thoughtful kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 21, from 5 - 7 PM at Bethany Church, located at 6388 Cincinnati Dayton Road, Liberty Twp., OH. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, October 22 at 11am at Bethany Church..
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Paws, or a dog shelter organization, or other charity in Evan’s memory.
