Frank Burger

Frank Edwin Burger (90), of Westchester, Ohio passed away on August 23, 2023.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 8,1933, he spent most of his childhood in Batavia, Ohio before joining the Navy in 1955.  After serving his country, he enrolled at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio graduating in 1959 with a degree in accounting.  After a brief stint in New Jersey, he returned to Batavia where he embarked on a successful career as a banking executive in Ohio and later in Indiana, retiring in 1997.  As a banker, he held officer level positions and was also very active in the Indiana Bankers Association, where he once served as President.

Frank is survived by his wife Linda of Westchester, Ohio, son Steve (Diana) of Johns Creek, Georgia, daughter Joan Holt (Terry) of Hamilton, Ohio and 2 granddaughters, Jacki Drexler (Alex) of Chicago, Illinois and Samantha Burger of Johns Creek, Georgia.  He is also survived by his sister Juanita Thornberry of Batavia, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents George Edwin Burger and Ada Finley Burger.

An avid golfer, he and his wife Linda retired to Greensboro, Georgia where they were able to spend many years golfing year-round. Frank also loved music and enjoyed singing. He sang for many years in a barbershop quartet, then later in the church choir.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and was a great storyteller.
