Gary Kleinwaechter

Gary Paul Kleinwaechter, 74, of Batavia, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Bethesda North hospital.

Gary was born on December 2, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Emil and Ellen (Selm) Kleinwaechter.

Gary loved family and friends and was always fun to be around. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was retired from the City of Forest Park. His career also included Corky’s BarberShop, Potter’s Shoes, Ohio Hydraulics, Conrail railroad, and drove a milk truck. He was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds and baseball, loved sport shooting with family and friends, ice cream, and playing Euchre. Gary was an 18 year member initiated, passed, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on 3/31/2007. Served in the East as Worshipful Master in 2020. He also served as a Trustee. A true pillar of the Sharonville-Calvary Lodge #204.

Gary is survived by his beloved companion Janet (Christie) Carpenter of Batavia, along with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild whom he loved as his own; his sister Teri (Kleinwaechter) Obert of Springdale, sister Mary (Kleinwaechter) Morley of Bright, brother Gerald Kleinwaechter of Bellbrook; and several nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Iona (Truett) Kleinwaechter. Iona is survived by her son Stephen Truett and her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Road West Chester 45069. Viewing from 11am -12:00pm. Service will begin at 12 at the funeral home.

Gary was proud to have served in the Marines, and proud of his Dad's service as a Hamilton County Sheriff, the family asks not for a donation, or flowers, but to honor Gary by offering to buy a lunch, or drink for a veteran or police officer should you be out and have the opportunity.
