George Walter Brovey

George Walter Brovey, 88, of West Chester (Cincinnati) Ohio, entered eternal rest on Wednesday December 29, 2021. George was born in Kulmont, Pa. on October 7, 1933 to Walter L. Brovey and Isabelle M. Parker. He was the beloved husband to the late Dorothy Baurenschub Brovey for 63 years. George was the devoted father to the late Susan Brovey, Michael Brovey, Sharon Brovey, Msgr. Steven Brovey of Charleston, SC, Michelle Brovey and Alicia Brovey. He is survived by many admiring grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his eldest daughter Susan, his granddaughter Leah Nicole Conway and his daughter-in-law Barbara Ann Brovey.

 

George is a proud former United States Marine. He served our nation actively from 1953-1957 followed by the reserves from 1958-1961. George always cherished his years as a Marine. He began his civil career with Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore, Maryland before beginning a 30+ year career with General Electric Corporation which took him and the family to Philadelphia, Pa., then Charleston, SC and finally to Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

The Lord blessed George with a large and loving family to whom he dedicated his life. He never tired in passing on the wisdom of the great things a person could achieve with hard work and determination.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday January 3, 2022 from 5pm-8pm at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd. West Chester, Ohio 45069. The Funeral Service and burial will be privately held.
