Gilbert Charles (“Gil”) Born, age 90, died peacefully on July 10. His beloved wife of 56 years, Carol (McKenzie) Born, died on July 19.

An exceptionally talented artist, Gil had a distinguished career at the University of Cincinnati as a professor of Industrial Design and Architecture in the DAAP program. Gil’s kindness and likeable personality enhanced his effectiveness as an educator, and both students and peers praised his influence on their lives and careers.

One of nine children, Gil was preceded in death by siblings Barbara (late George) Limke, Clifford (Becky) Born, Lori (late Jim) Schwartz, and Richard Born. He is survived by S. Janet Born, OSF, Nancy (Hank) Koch, Gerry (Kathy) Born, Gene (Maureen) Born, and many nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Gil and Carol, family and friends are invited to a memorial program and casual luncheon to be held on Friday, August 14, 12noon at Clovernook Country Club, 2035 W. Galbraith Rd, Cincinnati 45239.
