Harold Marlow, of Cincinnati, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, only a few days after celebrating his 85th birthday with family and friends while cheering on England in the World Cup.
A native of the UK, Harold survived the London Blitz as a child during World War II to find the American dream: first in Cleveland, Ohio, where he met Marion; and then in Cincinnati, Ohio, where they lovingly raised a family and built a wide circle of family and friends that reached from the Ohio River to the Cuyahoga, and from Australia to Germany. Harold’s engineering career reinforces stadiums, bridges, and buildings throughout the Midwest.
Harold was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 35 years, Marion; son Harold; and brother Jimmy. He is survived by his daughters Katie Krier (Pete) and Megan O’Connor (Marty); his grandchildren Liam, Elena, Caroline, Maggie, Jimmy, and Ellie; his sister-in-law Pat Marlow; and his beloved companion Michele Tilapaugh.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 31, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Michael Church with Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. St. Michael is located at 11144 Spinner Avenue in Sharonville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Outreach & Care Ministries of the St. Carlo Acutis family of parishes (www.stcarlocincy.org), which Harold proudly supported as a volunteer and group leader.
