Herbert Reed

Herbert Reed, age 88, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Father of Pamela (David) Wilson and Vicky Reed. Grandfather of Sarah Wilson and Miraih Reed. Great-grandfather of Elijah Jacobson and Caleb Johnson. Herbert was preceded in death by his mother Martha Reed, father Matt Reed and brothers Earl Reed and Ben Reed. Also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Christine Reed and grandson Daniel S. Pamperin. 

Herbert first came to Cincinnati from Kentucky and drove taxicabs while looking for other employment. He owned three taxicabs and was President of Cincy Taxi, Inc. for many years. He retired from Ford Motor Co. after 31 years of service as a machine repairman and some coworkers called him "The Cabman". He was an avid fan of Nascar and dirt track racing who traveled to races in his RV. 

Funeral services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
