Irene Roberts

June 2, 1941 — December 24, 2025

Irene Roberts, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, at the age of 84 surrounded by her family. Born on June 2, 1941, in Liberty, Kentucky, growing up there and cherished visits throughout her life.

Irene dedicated approximately 25 years of her career to the field of medical coding which gave her joy and fulfillment. She obtained her associate’s degree and RHIT certification in medical coding at Cincinnati State.

A devoted servant of Jesus Christ, Irene found solace and strength in her faith. She was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church since 1976, where she formed lasting friendships and sense of community and purpose.

Irene's most important accomplishments were rooted deeply in her family. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising daughters, Pamela (John) Loukinas and Trish (Chris) Wermes. As a grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren: Jillian (Brandon) Digiantonio, Megan Loukinas, Christopher Wermes, Emily (Austin) Rill, and Cassie Wermes. Irene was delighted in the joy they brought to her life and her love extended to her great-grandchild, Kipton Michael Rill, who held a special place in her heart.

Irene is also survived by her dear sister, Ernestine (late Larry) Thomas, sisters-in-law Carolyn (Tim) Preston, Susan (late Buel) Lawhorn, and brother-in-law Clifford (Janie) Roberts. She was also a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom remember her fondly for her warmth and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John H. Roberts, her parents, Stanley and Lora Woodrum, her sister, Jewell (Johnnie) Coleman, and her brother, Gearil (Faye) Woodrum, who now welcome her with open arms.

Irene’s compassionate nature, unwavering faith, and commitment to her family will be remembered by those who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be honored by her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association Greater Cincinnati Chapter or Bethany Baptist Church, Liberty Township.
