Jack Horne, born January 1, 1937, in Ages, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, in Coldspring, Kentucky, after a brief but valiant struggle with dementia. A friend to all, Jack entered into the arms of the Lord leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and deep affection.

Jack was a 1956 graduate of Harlan High School, and in the years that followed he built a life marked by dedication and steady work. He retired from Formica International, closing a long chapter of faithful service. Those who knew him will remember a man of quick wit and sure step, friendly, charming, gregarious, and outgoing. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and his presence brought an easy light to the lives of others.

Above all, Jack treasured his family. He is survived by his daughter Beth (Greg)Marshall of Covington, Kentucky, and by a large and loving family that continued to grow through the generations. He also leaves his grandchildren Joy( Travis )Forst, Jana( Tedd) Beiersdorfer, Amanda Holland, Amber Holland, Andrew Holland, Tyler ( Mariah) Bloom, and Devon( Maria) Bloom. His great-grandchildren brought him further joy: Brea (Nathan) Fister, Bruce Clarkson, Cadence Holland, Grace Beiersdorfer, Marshall Challis, Gibson Challis, and Kiara Bloom. He is also survived by his nieces, Jackie Osborne and Linda Osborne, his brother-in-law Nick(Angie) Holman, and his sister-in-law Suzanne Holman. Their lives were enriched by his love, his humor, and the steadfast way he remained present for those he cared about.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vivian Holman Horne; his daughters, Vickie Lynn Horne and Jackie Sue Horne; his son, Walter Preston Horne; his nephew, Patrick Holman; his brothers, Preston Horne and Bill Horne; his sister, Flossie Horne Osborne; and his parents, Bill and Gussie Horne. He carried the love of his family throughout his life, and that bond remains part of the memory he leaves behind.
